About Polytechnic Forum

Launched in 1996, the annual Polytechnic Forum provides a platform for students from all five polytechnics (Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Republic, Singapore and Temasek) to gain a deeper appreciation of national issues through research, learning journeys, group work as well as discussions with and by leaders from both the public and private sectors.

More importantly, this annual highlight gives our students a voice and empowers them to take ownership of the future of our communities and our nation. This year, they are further challenged to engage heads, hearts and hands through a series of curated activities such as community action projects.

Jointly organised by the five polytechnics in Singapore, this year’s pre-forum will take place from 13th to 17th September.  The delegates will continue to engage with the issues during the residential segment of the Forum from the 18th – 20th September that will be held at Resort World Singapore.

Using the familiar device of the speech bubble to communicate the purpose of the forum, the Poly Forum logo builds upon the initials, P and F to create a monogram that is easily identifiable, and as memorable as Polytechnic Forum.  The letterforms have been stylised to accommodate the speech bubbles in the negative spaces of P and F, retaining legibility and at the same time creating a distinct visual language.

Polytechnic Forum 2018 is hosted by Nanyang Polytechnic.

Polytechnic Forum 2018
The theme of Polytechnic Forum 2018 (PF2018) is Caring for Our Future. The primary goal of this year’s Poly Forum is to put the onus on our youth to consider how the issues of the day are all inter-connected and dynamic, while the theme challenges our centennials to demonstrate care to the diverse communities, and our nation, today and for the future.

You are the first generation of Singaporeans born into ever-present 24/7 technology and social media. More than the generations before yours, you are more adept at broaching multiple diverse topics and activities, as well as thinking abstractly, and more inclined to pursue entrepreneurism, in ways that would have baffled your predecessors.  The time has come for you to show that you care and will take action to positively impact our future.
